It's possible. My mom always says that an hour of sleep before midnight is like 2 hrs of sleep after midnight.

I think though that more likely than not, your skin is just very thin, and so your veins below your eyes are very visible (I have the same problem). Of course they get worse with the less sleep and more stress I have in my life.

Try some creams that are designed to not only fade the dark circles, but to thicken the skin around the eye. I know they exist, but unfortunately I cannot remember any brand names.

Good luck :)

no, but rubbing your eyes WILL cause it so try not to touch your eyes, and if you do just dab it with a towel or napkin if it's watery.
no. The body doesn't physically know whether it is 2am or 9pm. If a person is getting the actual recommended hours for sleep, there must be another reason for the dark under-eye circles.
i think it's possible coz I've got the same problem myself.
u are getting enough sleep

so its not the cause of dark circles
Yes the reason is you are very tired and they start getting like that at night slowly and then it starts showing I know because I use to think that and I started sleeping early and the circles went away.
your eyes are the most delicate skin on your face so don't rub or rub less and tug less.
No, you have dark circles under your eyes because you have pale skin and that lets your capillaries show through. I have the same problem, if you want to call it that ,and asked my plastic surgeon about it(yes I've had work done...)and he said that there is nothing to do about it. Sorry.(try a good quality concealer.)
if ur getting the recommended hours of sleep then its some other problem ,but to tell u frankly even im going thru the same problem of dark circles n dull n pale skin ,so my friends told me that its probably coz of stress so mayb even u have the same problem friend ...
So they say, hours slept prior to midnight are better quality but maybe you find sleeping and waking late you may not be getting enough daylight and Vitiman D from the sun is essenital. Also dark circles and/or dull whites of eyes can be evidence of a build up of toxins in your body. Get some liver cleansing juices and plenty of water in to you
Dark circles occur because there is no good blood circulation around the eyes. If you are straining your eyes too much, even if you sleep enough, sometimes you'll still get it.

The cosmetic approach is to have a warm towel or a warm press under ur eyes, the heat allows the blood vessels to expand slightly and helps circulation. You can also use teabags.. Teabag have anti-oxidants that help to relieve the area around your eyes of toxin. (please use teabags that were not used in contact with sugar..) gentle massage with warm press also seems to help better dark circles.

When you have the tendency of rubbing your eyes, it is also a sign of tired eyes. Take a nap or close your eyes for a while to let your eyes rest.

If you are in contact with the computer very frequently, take a rest of every 1hour and look at things far away, best if its greenery. That will help your eyes vision to adjust accordingly and also relax the eyes at the same time.
Ditch the Dark Circles

Before you go to bed, peel and slice a potato. Close your eyes and cover your eyelids with slices of raw potato, using a bandanna to secure the potatoes while you sleep. Do this three times a week. You should start to see gradual improvement.

How it works: The potatoes have the same enzyme used in expensive cosmetic creams to lighten the skin.

You can also mix equal portions of almond oil and honey and massage the mixture into the dark circles around your eyes before going to bed. Wash it off in the morning.

How it works: The honey acts as a moisturizer. The oil gently exfoliates, stimulating the skin cells around the eyes. This tightens and eventually lightens loose skin around the eyes. It has the dual effect of getting rid of wrinkles around the eyes, too.
There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.
